Staking
In short
Staking means locking your coins to earn a weekly share of trading fees. The longer you stay, the bigger your share, up to 2x. If nobody trades, there is little to share.
What you stake, what you get, and the loyalty boost.
Words used on this page
- USDC: a digital dollar. One USDC is meant to be worth $1.
- SOL: Solana's own coin, used to pay for transactions.
- Devnet: Solana's test network. Coins there have no real value.
- Staking: locking your coins for a while to earn a share of fees.
- Vesting: coins that unlock bit by bit over time instead of all at once.
- On-chain: recorded on the Solana blockchain, a public record anyone can check.
Think of it like: a dividend. Lock your coins and you get a weekly cut of trading fees, the way shareholders get dividend checks.
- You stake the item's own coin.
- Each week the stakers' slice of fees is shared out, in SOL or USDC.
- Your share = coins staked × your loyalty boost.
- The boost grows from 1.0x to 2.0x over 12 months.
- Unstake any time, but the boost resets to 1.0x.
Example: a coin trades $10,000 a day. Stakers share $175 a week. If you hold 5% of the staked coins at 1x and others average 1.5x, you get about $6 a week.
Try it: What could I earn? calculator. Each coin page shows its holder reward history.
Today on devnet, staking is tracked by Liquistate's server and payouts are sent by an admin. An on-chain staking program comes later.
