Basket coins
A basket coin is one coin backed by many smaller items, like a box of cards. Items worth under $20K join a basket, and one item can be up to half of it.
Small items pool together into one coin. A basket fills first, then launches.
Words used on this page
- USDC: a digital dollar. One USDC is meant to be worth $1.
- Devnet: Solana's test network. Coins there have no real value.
- Pool: a pot of coins and USDC that people trade against. A deeper pot means steadier prices.
- Staking: locking your coins for a while to earn a share of fees.
- Vesting: coins that unlock bit by bit over time instead of all at once.
Fill, then launch
- We open a themed basket (one kind of item per basket).
- Verified small items join, each counted at its appraised value. Owners can ask to join from the item checker or the basket page.
- The board shows the progress: Filling: 32 of 50 items, $6,400 of $10,000.
- At 50 items and $10K (and no item over 50%), the basket is ready.
- Liquistate launches it with a starting pool of 60% of its value in USDC, at least $6K (car baskets 50%, property baskets 30%).
Who can join
Cards and other collectibles under $20K (sneakers too), cars under $25K, properties under $100K equity. Stock pairs have no baskets.
The 50% rule
No single item can be more than half of the basket. While a basket is small, that means at most half of $10K, so $5K per item. A $19K card needs a basket worth at least $38K in total.
Coins and rewards
Each owner gets coins in proportion to their item's value. The fee split, staking and the loyalty boost work exactly like a single-item coin.
Example
100 cards averaging $500 make a $50K basket with a $30K pool. Quiet market: $1K a day of trading makes about $300 a month in fees. Hot market: $100K a day makes about $30K a month.
